Civil Society Summer Institute

civil social photoStudents currently enrolled in Mexican universities affiliated with The University of Texas at Austin are invited to apply to the Civil Society Summer Institute hosted by the RGK Center. This intensive six-week program offers students two graduate-level courses (6 credits) on civil society topics, including one that addresses the strategic management of nonprofit (NGO) organizations. In addition to coursework, the program provides opportunities for students to volunteer and network with local nonprofit organizations. To be eligible for the program, students must have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 and be able to document US $3000 in personal funds available to cover transportation, housing and student fees at UT Austin. Students interested in participating should contact the program coordinator at UT Austin for application materials: Moira Foreman Porter, (512) 471-7355, moira@austin.utexas.edu.

This program was originally funded with grant support from the U.S. Agency for International Development to increase cultural dialogue about civil society issues and to train future civil society leaders in the U.S. and Mexico.
