Social Innovation

The RGK Center trains and inspires the next generation of social innovators. Through expert speakers and applied coursework, students from diverse backgrounds develop their own solutions to the world’s most pressing social problems.

Austin Social Innovation Network Map

Hello and welcome! You are looking at an open source visualization of Austin’s social innovation space.

What you see here is a network map of the people and institutions in this ecosystem and how they are connected, pulling information from an open source database. The map displays organizations as red nodes and people as teal nodes, along with three types of relationships: executive management, board membership and financing into Austin-based social ventures; thicker edges represent financing.

This project was jointly launched by UnLtd USA and the RGK Center, with support from the Kumu team. As an open source project, we hope for this to become a resource both useful to and owned by the entire social innovation community.

Ready to dig in further? Contribute to the map and join the Austin #Socent Slack channel.
