HUD Secretary Julián Castro Speaks at the 2015 Reimagining Cities Conference
September 9, 2015 - The Honorable Julián Castro, Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of HUD with events hosted by The LBJ School of Public Affairs and co-hosted by the RGK Center. Secretary Castro offered a keynote address at the 2015 Reimagining Cities Conference, a gathering of Austin-area community leaders that focused on forward thinking approaches to creating affordable housing and strong, sustainable neighborhoods; access to good jobs and schools, and innovative urban planning. Immediately following his remarks, Secretary Castro met with a small group of LBJ School students to answer questions related to ongoing research projects at the School.
