Dr. Reed has worked for more than 30 years in social and economic development programs in Latin America, Asia and Africa at both grassroots and managerial levels. He is an international expert on the environmental impacts of macroeconomic reforms, the poverty-environment nexus, the financial architecture of climate change, and the environmental dimensions of US foreign policy.
Dr. Reed holds a master’s degree in the sociology of developing countries and a PhD in developmental economics from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. His most recent publication is In Pursuit of Prosperity: U.S. Foreign Policy in an Era of Natural Resource Scarcity (Routledge, 2014), for which he served as editor.
