David Springer, Director of the RGK Center will moderate a program with Austin nonprofit executives, board leaders, and grantmakers to explore the role catalyst funds play in deepening social impact. The event features informative presentations on catalyst funds, a panel discussion with dynamic social sector leaders on bringing this strategy to Austin, and interactive, facilitated Q&A with the audience. The event will close with a networking reception.  The program agenda will explore:

  • The structure of a ‘catalyst fund’ with close examination of its launch, management, and degrees of success and failures.
  • Research data presented by the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service, and a ‘live’ case study, featuring The Better Together Fund of Dallas, the first catalystfund in Texas
  • The motivations, barriers, and opportunities that drive nonprofit collaboration, with facilitated discussion on whether and how such indicators apply in Austin.
