Best ARNOVA Conference Paper Nomination

A paper by Durgish Kumar, RGK Faculty Fellow Dennis L. Poole, and RGK Interim Director Sarah Jane Rehnborg, has been nominated for the Award for the Best Paper Presentation at the 2012 annual research conference of the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA).  The paper is based on Rehnborg and Poole’s research on nonprofit community engagement capacity and financial sustainability. The study hypothesizes that community engagement capacity would have significant effects on nonprofit financial sustainability, even when controlling for organizational age and scale. Data are drawn from a community engagement study conducted by Rehnborg and Poole (2011), as well as from GuideStar IRS 990 data on a random sample of nonprofits.
